Indoor Cats

Indoor Cats at Clarence Brown Lab Theatre

Filmmaker Jules is recently dumped, creatively stuck, and escaping to her parents' cabin in Central Pennsylvania just as the world seems to be shutting down. Then a flirtatious neighbor pulls her into the bizarre world of making films for cats. Mora V. Harris's Indoor Cats comes to Clarence Brown Lab Theatre in Knoxville on Saturday, March 6, 2027, at 7:30 PM. Follow one woman's attempt to navigate art, desire and uncertainty when nothing makes sense anymore.

Harris describes the play as wry, original and wonderfully strange. If you're drawn to comedy that doesn't follow the usual path, this production offers something worth your attention. Director Daniel Bird Tobin leads a creative team including scenic designer Ellie Cornett, costume designer Malin Sender and lighting designer Brek Dodson. Their collaboration brings Jules's unlikely creative detour to the stage.

Take someone who appreciates theater that surprises them. A friend who's tired of predictable plots. A partner who finds comedy in life's absurdities. Choosing this outing together means making time for a story you haven't heard before and giving yourselves permission to enjoy something delightfully odd.
