Indoor Cats

Indoor Cats at Clarence Brown Lab Theatre

Creative life falls apart. World shuts down. Cats need movies. That's the strange logic behind Indoor Cats, and if you're ready for a comedy that starts with artistic disaster and veers somewhere unexpected, the Clarence Brown Lab Theatre stages Mora V. Harris's play on Friday, February 26, 2027, at 7:30 PM. Filmmaker Jules retreats to her parents' cabin in Central Pennsylvania just as everything unravels, and what she finds there—a neighbor, a bizarre project, and a world that no longer makes sense—becomes your evening out.

Director Daniel Bird Tobin leads the production with scenic design by Ellie Cornett, costumes by Malin Sender, and lighting by Brek Dodson. The play takes creativity, desire, and uncertainty seriously enough to make you care, and then turns them into something wry and wonderfully strange. If you've ever watched your own plans collapse and wondered what comes next, this story gives that feeling a voice—and makes it funny.

Bring someone who appreciates theater that doesn't follow the usual script. A partner who likes comedy with edges. A friend who'd rather discover something new than revisit something familiar. Friday night at the Lab Theatre gives you a reason to try a play you haven't seen and talk about it afterward over drinks.
