Indoor Cats

Indoor Cats at Clarence Brown Lab Theatre

Jules is dumped, creatively stuck, and the world is shutting down around her. She retreats to her parents' cabin in Central Pennsylvania, hoping to regroup. Instead, she stumbles into filmmaking for cats—yes, cats—and a flirtatious neighbor who pulls her deeper into that bizarre world. Mora V. Harris's Indoor Cats comes to Clarence Brown Lab Theatre in Knoxville on Friday, March 5, 2027, at 7:30 PM. If you're drawn to comedy that finds humor in life's most absurd corners, this play offers a fresh angle on art, desire, and making sense of uncertainty.

Director Daniel Bird Tobin leads the production, supported by a creative team handling scenic design, costumes, lighting, sound and projections. Harris's premise makes an unlikely creative project the starting point for a comedy about desire and uncertainty. That combination offers a reason to choose this production if you enjoy stories about artists finding their way through a crisis.

Take someone who appreciates comedy that doesn't follow the usual path. A friend who enjoys offbeat storytelling. A partner curious about what makes a play feel different from the standard lineup. Choosing the evening together gives you a reason to step out, settle into your seats, and share something that surprises both of you.

Let your curiosity make the call. Explore ticket options for Indoor Cats in Knoxville and plan a theater night that gives you something new to talk about.
