Indoor Cats

Indoor Cats at Clarence Brown Lab Theatre

A filmmaker in creative crisis retreats to a cabin in Central Pennsylvania just as the world starts shutting down. Her neighbor pulls her into the strange business of making films for cats. Clarence Brown Lab Theatre stages Mora V. Harris's Indoor Cats on Saturday, February 27, 2027, at 2:00 PM. If you want comedy that's wry, strange and genuinely original, make room for a story about art, desire and finding meaning when life doesn't.

Jules is recently dumped, creatively unraveling, and navigating uncertainty in ways she didn't expect. A flirtatious encounter becomes an unlikely creative project. Harris writes about connection and the absurdity of trying to make something when the ground shifts beneath you. Director Daniel Bird Tobin leads the production, supported by Ellie Cornett's scenic design, Malin Sender's costumes, and Brek Dodson's lighting. The appeal is a fresh theatrical voice and a comedy that doesn't follow the usual paths.

Share a Saturday afternoon with someone who appreciates off-center humor. A friend who'll laugh at the oddness of filmmaking for cats. A partner drawn to stories about artists trying to figure things out. This is the kind of play you talk about afterward, and a Lab Theatre date gives you the reason to spend an afternoon together.

If wry, original comedy is enough of a reason to leave the house, check ticket options for Indoor Cats and plan your Saturday afternoon in Knoxville.
