A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol at Clarence Brown Theatre - Mainstage
Ebenezer Scrooge gets a second chance: the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come arrive to show him what his choices have cost him and what's still possible if he changes. The Clarence Brown Theatre Company stages Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol at Clarence Brown Theatre - Mainstage in Knoxville on Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 7:30 PM. Follow a miser toward a more generous life as the holiday season approaches.
John Tanner’s music accompanies the Edward Morgan and Joseph Hanreddy adaptation, directed by Patrick Lanczki. Kevin Depinet’s scenery and John Horner’s lighting add visual dimensions to the tale. For a viewer interested in how a familiar book becomes theater, those creative contributions offer more to follow than the plot alone.
A Saturday evening performance can give a family theater visit a place in your weekend plans. For families considering a younger theatergoer's visit, the production is recommended for ages 4 and older, and children under 4 are not permitted. Choose the outing with your own family's readiness in mind.
