A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Clarence Brown Theatre - Mainstage

Ebenezer Scrooge faces three spirits and one last opportunity to become someone better. The Clarence Brown Theatre Company stages Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol at Clarence Brown Theatre - Mainstage in Knoxville on Thursday, December 3, 2026, at 7:30 PM. Follow the lonely miser through a night that offers him the chance to rediscover generosity, compassion and joy before it's too late.

Director Patrick Lanczki brings the Edward Morgan and Joseph Hanreddy adaptation to life with music by John Tanner. The production layers music, humor and dazzling theatrical spectacle onto a story you may already know. The ghosts drive the plot, but Scrooge's struggle to open his heart again gives you something to care about beyond the seasonal atmosphere.

Plan an outing with people who matter to you before holiday obligations crowd the calendar. For families considering younger guests, the production is recommended for ages 4 and older, and children under 4 are not permitted. Choose the evening with your own family's readiness in mind and make room for a Knoxville holiday tradition worth returning to.

Give yourself a reason to gather around a story that reminds us kindness can still flourish. Check ticket options for A Christmas Carol and plan a December theater night together.
