Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Masterworks

Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Masterworks at Tennessee Theatre

Wagner changed how Western music sounds. Tchaikovsky gave ballet one of its most famous scores. Korngold brought Hollywood sweep to the concert hall. The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performs works by all three on Thursday, February 11, 2027, at 7:30 PM inside Tennessee Theatre. If you've been waiting for a reason to hear an orchestra live, this program offers passion, drama and melody worth leaving the house for.

Music Director Aram Demirjian conducts music from Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, an opera whose bold harmonic language influenced generations of composers. Violinist Bella Hristova returns as soloist for Korngold's Violin Concerto, one of the composer's best-known concert works. The evening closes with Tchaikovsky's Suite from Swan Lake, bringing some of the ballet's most memorable music into the concert setting. Each piece explores Romantic expression in a different voice.

Classical music heard live carries weight that recordings alone can't deliver. You can follow the orchestra and soloist as the music develops. The music unfolds in real time, and you're part of that moment. Bring someone who values an evening with substance. A friend who prefers live music to screens. A partner who'd enjoy an outing that feels like an occasion. Give yourselves something to look forward to together.

Spend a Thursday night with music that's stayed in the repertoire for good reason. Explore ticket options for Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Masterworks and plan an evening at Tennessee Theatre.
