The Sound of Music at Tennessee Theatre
Maria chooses to follow her heart instead of staying behind closed doors, and her decision changes everything for the von Trapp family. The Sound of Music comes to Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Sunday, March 28, 2027, at 7:00 PM. This Rodgers & Hammerstein musical gives you a story about love, resilience and the courage to climb every mountain. If you've been looking for a reason to spend an evening at the theater, this production offers one.
The score includes songs audiences have carried with them for decades: Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and Edelweiss. Director Jack O'Brien, a three-time Tony Award winner, brings this romantic tale to life. You already know the melodies. Hearing them performed live gives you something familiar to look forward to and a reason to experience the show in person rather than revisiting a recording.
Invite someone who loves a good story told well. A partner who appreciates musical theater. A friend who grew up singing these songs. The production gives you an occasion to share, not just a show to watch. Choose the evening together and put it on your calendar as something worth leaving the house for.
Let the music and the story make the decision for you. Explore ticket options for The Sound of Music in Knoxville and plan a Sunday night at Tennessee Theatre.
