The Great Gatsby - Theatrical Production

The Great Gatsby - Theatrical Production at Tennessee Theatre

Jay Gatsby throws parties for one reason: to bring the woman he loves back into his life. That obsession drives F. Scott Fitzgerald's American classic, and now it comes to the Tennessee Theatre stage as a Tony Award®-winning musical. The Great Gatsby plays in Knoxville on Sunday, December 20, 2026, at 1:30 PM. If you've ever wondered what wealth, longing and tragedy look like when the Roaring Twenties take over a theater, here's your chance to find out.

Director Marc Bruni guides a production built on jazz- and pop-influenced original music by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen, with choreography by Dominique Kelley and a book by Kait Kerrigan. That creative team transforms Fitzgerald's novel into a musical journey through extravagance and heartbreak. The appeal isn't just recognizing the story—it's watching a creative team turn familiar pages into a live theatrical event.

Bring someone who shares your curiosity about how a beloved novel becomes a stage production. A partner who enjoys literary theater. A friend who appreciates choreography and original scores. An afternoon at Tennessee Theatre gives you both a reason to dress up, leave the house and see a story you thought you knew through music and movement.
