The Great Gatsby - Theatrical Production

The Great Gatsby - Theatrical Production at Tennessee Theatre

Jay Gatsby throws lavish parties, chases a vanished love, and learns too late that wealth can't buy back the past. The Great Gatsby brings F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic American novel to Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Sunday, December 20, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Follow a man who built an empire on longing and discover what happens when hope collides with reality.

This Tony Award–winning musical features a jazz- and pop-influenced original score by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen, with choreography by Dominique Kelley and direction by Marc Bruni. The music and staging give you more than Fitzgerald's words; they give you the sound and movement of an era when ambition and excess rewrote American life. A night at the theater lets you experience that world through song, performance, and a story that still asks whether love can survive the cost of chasing it.

Invite someone who appreciates American literature or the emotional weight of a musical that doesn't promise easy answers. A partner who enjoys theatrical storytelling. A friend who read Gatsby in school and wonders what the stage does with it. Choosing the performance together gives you a reason to dress up, step into the Roaring Twenties for an evening, and talk about what you saw on the way home.

Let the story decide for you. Check ticket options for The Great Gatsby in Knoxville and plan a December night at Tennessee Theatre.
