Clyde's

Clyde's at The Jenny Boyd Theatre

An unruly boss. A kitchen full of competing hopes. Clyde's, the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's Tony-nominated play, comes to The Jenny Boyd Theatre in Knoxville on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM. In a roadside kitchen where formerly incarcerated cooks work under a demanding boss, pride and possibility begin to rise alongside the daily orders. If resilience and humor appeal to you, this story offers both.

Nottage's writing has earned recognition across the country, and Clyde's became one of the most-produced plays in America after its premiere. Director Katie Lupica brings the production to Knoxville with a creative team that includes scenic design by Kristen Martino and sound design by Joe Payne. The play runs 100 minutes without intermission, keeping you with the characters as they navigate workplace conflict, past trauma and the fragile hope of starting over.

Choose a Sunday afternoon at the theater with someone whose company you value. A partner who appreciates smart writing. A friend drawn to stories about people rebuilding their lives. A parent or sibling who would enjoy spending time together away from routine. The occasion gives you something specific to plan and a reason to make the day memorable.

Make Nottage’s kitchen drama the center of your Sunday plans. Check ticket options for Clyde's in Knoxville and arrange a theater outing worth your afternoon.
