Appalachian Ballet Company: The Nutcracker with Knoxville Symphony at Knoxville Civic Auditorium

A girl dreams her toy soldier becomes a prince, and together they journey through snowflakes and sweets to a kingdom that's theirs for one enchanted night. Appalachian Ballet Company performs The Nutcracker with Knoxville Symphony at Knoxville Civic Auditorium on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM. If you've been looking for a reason to bring the holidays to life, this is it.

Tchaikovsky's music played live by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra adds a layer you don't get from a recording. The dancers tell the story; the orchestra gives it weight. Appalachian Ballet Company is East Tennessee's premier classical performing company, active since 1972 and part of the Regional Dance America/Southeast organization. Their partnership with the orchestra makes this a collaboration worth attending, not just watching.

A holiday ballet gives you a reason to gather before the season runs out of time. Invite the family member who introduced you to The Nutcracker years ago. Bring a child who's ready for live theater. Choose seats with someone who appreciates the discipline it takes to tell a story without words. The evening becomes part of your season, not just a night out.

Give yourself a reason to dress up and make December memorable. Check ticket options for The Nutcracker in Knoxville and plan a night at the ballet.
