Scott Miller

Scott Miller at Bijou Theatre - TN

Scott Miller writes songs that sit with you. His work balances wit with emotional honesty, and his voice carries the kind of storytelling intelligence that makes a roots-music evening feel earned. Miller brings that approach to Bijou Theatre in Knoxville on Friday, January 22, 2027, at 8:00 PM. If you're drawn to singers who explore everyday emotions without flinching, this is a chance to hear one of them in person.

Recently inducted into the East Tennessee Writers Hall of Fame, Miller first made a name with the V-Roys before building a solo career informed by his return to rural Virginia and the family farm. His songwriting pulls from that landscape, Appalachian history, and the complexities that tangle with daily life. Critics have compared his style to John Prine and Loudon Wainwright III—artists who find depth in ordinary moments and deliver it with character.

A Friday at Bijou Theatre gives you a reason to start the weekend with live music instead of waiting for it. Invite someone who appreciates a well-turned phrase in a song, or a friend who's been meaning to see more roots acts in Knoxville. This is the kind of show that rewards attention, and choosing it together makes the evening more than background noise.
