Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Roy Cockrum Chamber Series - Mostly Mozart

Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Roy Cockrum Chamber Series - Mostly Mozart at Bijou Theatre - TN

Mozart's Symphony No. 25 opens with urgency: minor-key restlessness that doesn't wait for permission. The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performs Mostly Mozart at Bijou Theatre on Sunday, January 24, 2027, at 2:30 PM. Guest conductor Christopher James Lees leads the Roy Cockrum Chamber Series program. If you've ever wondered what makes Mozart feel immediate centuries later, here's your chance to hear the answer in person.

The afternoon brings Duncan Henry as bassoon soloist in Mozart's Bassoon Concerto, an instrument that offers warmth and wit in equal measure. The program also includes Herencia by Casarrubios, a contemporary voice on a bill anchored by tradition. Together, they give you both the appeal of familiar genius and the curiosity of something new.

A Sunday afternoon at the Bijou can be the occasion you've been putting off arranging. Invite someone who loves classical music but rarely makes time for it. A friend who grew up listening to Mozart. A partner who appreciates a well-made afternoon. The afternoon start offers an alternative to an evening concert.
