Death Cab for Cutie

Death Cab for Cutie at Tennessee Theatre

Ben Gibbard's voice doesn't shout for attention. It pulls you closer. Death Cab for Cutie performs at Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Friday, March 12, 2027, at 8:00 PM. The I Built You A Tower Tour brings the band's 11th studio album to a city where indie rock fans can hear those precise melodies in person. If you've carried these songs with you for years, here's your chance to share the room with the people who wrote them.

The band recently celebrated the 20th anniversaries of Transatlanticism and Plans with sold-out arena tours, reminding fans why those albums mattered. I Built You A Tower was shaped by the pressure of fronting both Death Cab for Cutie and the Postal Service on those stages while Gibbard navigated personal collapse offstage. That tension runs through the new record, recorded in just three weeks with producer John Congleton. The album's first single, "Riptides," became the band's ninth number-one at Adult Alternative radio. For longtime listeners, this tour offers a chance to hear where the band is now alongside the songs you already know.

A Friday night at Tennessee Theatre gives you a reason to invite someone whose playlist overlaps with yours. The friend who introduced you to The Photo Album. The partner who knows every word to I Will Follow You into the Dark. Choosing the show together turns an ordinary Friday into an occasion you can both look forward to.
