Greylan James

Greylan James at Open Chord Music

Greylan James has written country songs recorded by Kenny Chesney, Morgan Wallen and Cole Swindell. He earned an ACM Award for Song of the Year co-writing Jordan Davis's Next Thing You Know. Now the Nashville songwriter is stepping out from behind the writer's room to perform his own catalog. He plays Open Chord Music in Knoxville on Sunday, December 13, 2026, at 8:00 PM. This is your chance to hear the voice behind the songbook.

James grew up in Knoxville, playing every kind of show from tailgates to dive bars before moving to Music City. This performance brings him back to the town that shaped his early love of country music. His catalog includes Water At A Wedding, a single that reached the Top 25, and songs that have amassed over 900 million streams. For listeners drawn to his songwriting, the appeal is seeing the artist bring his own material to the stage.

An evening at Open Chord gives you a reason to invite someone who appreciates good country songwriting. A friend who follows the Nashville scene. A partner who'd enjoy a Sunday night out with live music. Choose the show together and you've got something on the calendar worth looking forward to.

Give yourself a reason to catch a Knoxville homecoming. Find ticket options for Greylan James and plan a country music night that lets you hear the songwriter in person.
