Death Becomes Her

Death Becomes Her at Tennessee Theatre

Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp will do absolutely anything to stay young and beautiful. Their rivalry drives them to extremes, and a mysterious potion from Viola Van Horn promises eternal youth—if they're willing to pay the price. Death Becomes Her, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy based on the 1992 film, arrives at Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Friday, November 27, 2026, at 8:00 PM. If sharp wit and dark humor appeal to you, this is your invitation to laugh at vanity gone deliciously wrong.

The production has earned praise from The New York Times, Variety and Entertainment Weekly for its savagely funny take on fame, beauty and mortality. Tony winner Christopher Gattelli directs and choreographs the production. The appeal lies in watching two women scheme, compete and discover that immortality comes with consequences they never imagined. If you loved the film, the stage version gives you a new way to enjoy the story with music and Broadway-scale spectacle.

Invite someone who shares your taste for comedy that doesn't hold back. A friend who quotes the film. A partner who appreciates a night of laughter over polite sentimentality. This is a show you talk about afterward, and choosing it together gives you an occasion worth clearing your Friday night for.
